The Myrtillocactus geometrizans var. Fukurokuryuzinboku is a rare nursery cultivar. This species is originally indigenous to north central Mexico down to Oaxaca.The standard Myrtillocactus geometrizans ("Blue Candle Cactus"), is a very popular candelabra-like tree cactus. This Japanese cultivar, however, takes on a peculiar monstrose form and is prized by collectors.
Flowers are small compared to their stems and are greenish-white in color. Blooming season begins in March. Fruit is edible, very sweet, dark red and oblong. Relatively simple species to cultivate. Provide light shade when young and full sun after plant is established.
