Myrtillocactus geometrizans var. Crested Elite

The Myrtillocactus geometrizans var. Crested Elite is indigenous to Mexico. This stunning, unique and somewhat bizarre species is very slow growing. It is a densely forming, crested cactus. If provided with full sun, its skin tends to take on a more bluish color. As with most crested plants, it is unlikely to flower or produce fruit. That being said, it certainly has the capability to do so.

The Myrtillocactus geometrizans 'Elite Crest' is a perennial, requiring full sun to partial shade. Its USDA hardiness zone is 9b (25 °F to 30 °F). This species is suitable for Xeriscape gardening. It is drought tolerant. This cactus requires very well-draining soil with little organic matter (i.e., peat).
