The Euphorbia ammak is indigenous to Yemen (southern tip of the Arabian Peninsula). It grows in rocky portions of planes, steep hillsides and thorny bush-lands. In the correct climate (wet and warm at the same time), this species produces simple, lanceolate leaves near the top of each branch. These leaves are much larger and more prominent in the green form than in the variegated/yellow forms. Yellowish-green flowers form above each set of thorns. Fruit is green.

The The Euphorbia ammak is easily cultivated. Its needs are few. They require well-draining soil and full sunlight. Moderately fast grower. Suitable for xeriscaping.
