Description: 

large rosette growing on limestone bluffs on the Big Bend of the Rio Grande in southwest Texas; stiff-succulent, narrow linear leaves, shiny gray-green above, white-scurfy beneath and arching downward, the margins serrate with vicious spines; the inflorescence branched with spikeletes of white flowers.
