Well known clustering succulent having deeply ribbed, fat stems, toothed along angles, silky olive green and velvety, with gigantic flowers, pale yellow with transverse crimson lines, variable in color, with forms more reddish, and covered with purplish or crimson hairs; exuding an offensive "rotting meat" odor.
